Meet Emrys

Emrys Odell is a 23 year old environmentalist, artist, and eternal learner. He recently completed a year of service with AmeriCorps Cape Cod in Massachusetts. There, he performed natural resource management and led community outreach initiatives. In 2024, he graduated magna cum laude in Global Environmental Studies from Clark University in Worcester, MA. They grew up in Upstate New York, enjoying the forests and lakes near their home. They paint, draw, play guitar and are an avid reader.  This is his first time living on the West Coast and he’s excited to build connections to the Portland area through environmental service.

About Community

Sabin’s Livability Initiative is an ongoing and organization-wide project to intentionally improve the livability of the culturally diverse neighborhoods that we serve in North East Portland. Livability is the sum of factors that add up to a community’s quality of life. Livability is the presence of color, art, and diversity, but it’s also unusable sidewalks, skyrocketing rent prices, and lack of green space.
