Meet Gillian

Gillian is serving with Sabin through AmeriCorps as one of two Proactive Regenerative Landscaping Members. Gillian has grown up on the West Coast and spent childhood summers camping across the western US. Gillian graduated from the University of Oregon in the spring of 2025 where she studied Environmental Science, Geography, and Biology. Her academic interests centered on restoration, sustainable agriculture, land stewardship, and ecological research. In this new role with AmeriCorps and Sabin, they are hoping to further explore the worlds of environmental justice, regenerative landscaping, and sustainable living through community grounded work. Gillian is bringing a lot of enthusiasm, care, and determination to this position along with a desire to learn everything she can.

About Community

Sabin’s Livability Initiative is an ongoing and organization-wide project to intentionally improve the livability of the culturally diverse neighborhoods that we serve in North East Portland. Livability is the sum of factors that add up to a community’s quality of life. Livability is the presence of color, art, and diversity, but it’s also unusable sidewalks, skyrocketing rent prices, and lack of green space.
